The console that grows with your needs…
… and delivers that sought-after classic sound
Who doesn't dream of an uncompromising, high-quality recording console with loads of character? One that also meets the demands of a flexible, modern music production environment?
Enter the Rupert Neve Designs 5088 – a fully modular, high-end analog mixing console designed for world-class audio production. Its secret? You can start small and scale your setup step-by-step — without major upfront investment, long installation times, or disruptive workflow changes.
At its core, the RND 5088 is a high-voltage, transformer-coupled analog desk. But it’s far from a nostalgia piece. It represents the late Sir Rupert Neve’s final answer to the analog recording console — a culmination of decades of groundbreaking design and innovation. Whether you're tracking, mastering, working in a hybrid setup, or running full analog sessions, the 5088 rises to the occasion.
Start with just a few channels and grow your console as your studio evolves. Add 16-channel expansion frames, mono or stereo input modules, metering sections, and even advanced automation down the line. Need top-tier preamps? Add the optional Penthouse module, equipped with Rupert Neve Designs’ renowned mic preamps, EQs, or compressors.
Want seamless outboard integration? Build in a producer desk with 500-series racks, 19" bays, or custom patchbays — all housed in elegant, studio-grade furniture that complements the console’s premium look and feel.
The power supply is equally robust and reliable. A 16-channel master frame consumes only 825W, with Penthouse modules drawing about 10W each. Despite its efficiency, the PSU is optimized to drive the console’s discrete high-voltage op-amps and custom transformers, delivering massive headroom and pristine signal quality.
But what truly sets the Rupert Neve Designs 5088 apart is the sound. It’s unmistakably Rupert: warm, wide, open — and yet incredibly clean. It doesn’t force a signature tone but delivers depth, punch, and clarity that only a lifetime of analog mastery can provide.
Craving more color? Flip the Silk switch and choose between Silk Red or Silk Blue modes to introduce subtle harmonic saturation — enriching either the lows or highs with musical, analog warmth. Whether you're recording vocals, mixing a jazz trio, producing pop, or mastering electronic music, the 5088 offers a sonic foundation that inspires.
The 5088 isn’t just a console. It’s the heart of your studio — and one that evolves as you do.
