The Acme Opticom XLA-3 MKII is a single channel all-valve optical limiter inspired by the legendary Teletronix LA-2 and built to exacting military-style specifications.
The Acme Opticom uses a unique triple opto-electronic circuit which combine the best characteristics of three separate compression curves into a single unit, producing a full range of non-linear dynamic effects, offering a wide range of tones from clean to darn right dirty.
At its core the Opticom features high-speed cadmium-selenide optical photocells for detection as well as an all valve circuitry and point-to-point wiring. The unit truly exudes quality through and through from the military grade components employed to its 16 gauge solid steel chassis, feeling reassuringly solid. The addition of custom-ordered bakerlite analogue control knobs, full-sized backlit panel meters and neutrik/cliff connectors also ensures the Opticom will provide years of reliable performance for many years to come.
