THE COOKER is a High Voltage Tone Conditioner. This analog processor is truly one of a kind and combines the tonal impact and energy of high voltage solid state circuits with the vibrant and thick sounds of custom transformers, providing the user with stunning sonic enhancement.
The range of control on this box is extended and very versatile, going from super subtle to aggressively pushed. Energizing the tracks, buses, mixes and masters, it can actually be the "Life of the Party"
In addition to the TEMP control made famous by THE OVEN, there are two intensity settings (WARM and HOT) that control how much saturation may be applied to the TEMP circuit.
We also added more functions, such as FRY and SEAR, which are Tonal Conditioners designed to affect the sound in very unique way. Created to surpass the limits of "standard" tone shaping, these controls bring something "strange and weird" to the party; often unpredictable but always special.
Born from Maor Appelbaum's personal creative mastering concepts and built with Hendy Amps' impeccable skill in creating some of today's most unique analog processors, THE COOKER is a creative and versatile tool for the current Composer/Producer/Engineer/Mixer and Mastering Engineer.
FEATURES
BYPASS: Dual switches allow the engineer to completely disengage THE OVEN at any time in order to properly A/B a mix (true bypass). We mean TRUE bypass.
LEFT & RIGHT CALIBRATION: Used to Gain match the Left and Right signals, accounting for any volume discrepancies encountered. Interestingly enough, these calibration controls can also be used to alter the tonal response of THE GRILL if so desired. For example, it is possible to bring the Calibration volumes up and the FLOW down, resulting in THE GRILL driving the signal harder than normal, increasing saturation. If your rig is running very hot you can lower the calibration settings to get more headroom coming in the unit to avoid oversaturation.
STEAM: This control will get you the gain push needed to adjust input drive to taste while PRESSURE allow the user to adjust the output level and saturated harmonics to keep everything under control.
CRISPER: This function brings the WARM AIR sound that is associated with THE OVEN, and truly asserts itself as a magical control. CRISPER opens up the sound in a pleasing way that adds just enough authority to the signal to be noticed.
Last but not least…
PRE-HEAT: Engaging this switch brings a little Extra Extra to your sound by engaging an extra gain stage and adds an additional custom transformer into the circuit.
