Building on the heritage of the acclaimed HERCHILD 660, HERCHILD 670, and the GRANDCHILD 670/500, this new version delivers the unmistakable Fairchild tone with expanded control and modern workflow enhancements.
While the HERCHILD 660 and 670 faithfully recreated the original Fairchild units using authentic NOS tubes, custom transformers, and period-accurate design, the GRANDCHILD 670/500 proved that true Vari-Mu sound could live inside a 500-series format. Now, the HERCHILD Model 670N takes this legacy even further — combining vintage analog warmth with next-generation functionality for mixing and mastering engineers who demand precision and musicality.
Each channel of the HERCHILD 670N includes independent bypass, advanced side-chain filtering, and a transformer-coupled output gain stage driven by the renowned HA-880 op-amp, ensuring transparent make-up gain without losing the unit’s signature color.
The compressor offers six meticulously tuned Attack and Release times, providing greater flexibility than the original. Its progressive DC Threshold seamlessly integrates ratio and knee control, allowing everything from smooth, transparent compression to punchy, aggressive limiting.
