The design of the BeesNeez Elly prioritizes portability, low self-noise, and reduced sibilance, resulting in a phantom-powered transformer balanced fet microphone optimized for seamless integration with the BeesNeez K7 Capsule. Both the Studio Series Elly and the Producer Series Elly boast identical circuitry, with the Studio Series offering a cost-saving one-piece solid brass body grille.
Circuit Design:
Equipped with our custom-designed E-Core single-spool transformer, the Elly ensures low leakage and compact size, while mitigating susceptibility to core magnetization. Paired with the BeesNeez K7 cardioid microphone capsule, meticulously crafted with 6-micron DuPont mylar, the Elly delivers exceptional performance and reliability.
Sonic Characteristics:
The BeesNeez Elly Fet, a large diaphragm fet condenser microphone, offers a rich and warm rounded tone suitable for various applications, particularly vocal recording. The BeesNeez K7 capsule provides an almost linear response up to the upper mids, with a slight boost above 2000Hz, tapering off at 17000Hz.
Build Quality:
Crafted from a single piece of cold-formed 380 grade brass tube, the Elly ensures excellent rejection and shielding, thanks to its high copper content. Following precision machining and powder coating, the body and base exhibit durability and longevity. The integrated head grille design enhances the microphone's robust construction, ensuring superior electrical and acoustic performance compared to many modern microphones.
