With the BeesNeez K7 [K47] microphone capsule, the Oliver Fet offers the coveted U47 fet-like frequency response in a transformerless design, proudly crafted in Australia.
Circuit Design:
At the heart of the Oliver Fet lies the BeesNeez K7 capsule, meticulously replicated from the iconic K47 design. The single backplate construction, renowned for its complexity, is expertly crafted to ensure precise pattern control. Utilizing high-quality 6-micron DuPont mylar, each capsule undergoes meticulous framing, sputtering, tuning, and fixing to the backplate for optimal performance.
Sonic Characteristics:
Sonically reminiscent of classic tube mics from the 1950s, such as the U47, the Oliver Fet's transformer-less fet design delivers a fast and dynamic sound signature. Despite its modern design, the Oliver Fet captures the essence of vintage counterparts, thanks to its superior build quality and single backplate microphone capsule design. Optimized for the new low voltage bias version of the BeesNeez K7 capsule, the Oliver Fet ensures exceptional performance and sonic fidelity.
Build Quality:
Crafted from a single piece of cold-formed 380 grade brass tube, the Oliver Fet boasts exceptional rejection and shielding capabilities. Following precision machining, the body undergoes powder coating for durability. The base, crafted from 380 grade brass, is meticulously formed in our own 8-axis CNC turning center for stability and longevity. Integrated head grille design, achieved through strategic window cutting, ensures seamless construction and robust performance.
