Bettermaker PEQ_core
The Bettermaker PEQ_core brings the company’s acclaimed passive equalizer concept into a compact, modern 1U format built for stereo, dual mono and multi bus workflows. Designed as a new addition to Bettermaker’s legendary passive EQ line, the PEQ_core combines a 100% analog audio signal path with full digital control, instant recall and DAW automation.
At its heart, the PEQ_core delivers the smooth, musical tone of a passive analog equalizer, while adding the precision, speed and repeatability required in modern production and mastering environments. All parameters can be controlled from the dedicated plugin, allowing engineers to recall complete settings instantly, automate moves from the DAW, create fast snapshots and work accurately across multiple sessions.
The unit offers stereo and dual mono operation, making it suitable for mix bus, mastering, stem processing and individual stereo sources. Precisely linked stereo operation allows effortless single-control adjustments, while dual mono mode gives full independent control over left and right channels.
The extended high boost section includes air bands at 20 kHz and 28 kHz, giving the PEQ_core the ability to add openness, shine and air at the very top end. Adjustable output gain provides +/- 8 dB of level control in precise 0.1 dB steps, making it easy to match levels accurately when comparing processed and unprocessed signals.
For detailed work, the PEQ_core includes band audition for accurate frequency adjustment, plus input and output metering directly within the plugin. Mastering-grade HPF and LPF digital filters are also available from the plugin, expanding the unit’s flexibility without compromising the analog signal path.
Thanks to its new stackable 1U design, the PEQ_core is especially well suited to multi bus environments and larger hybrid setups where multiple units may be used together. USB connectivity for Mac and PC makes integration straightforward, while the dedicated plugin brings all the benefits of digital workflow control to a true analog passive equalizer.
