Cranborne Audio Camden 500, Carnaby 500 & Brick Lane 500 Bundle

The Cranborne Audio 500 Series Bundle combines three of Cranborne Audio's analogue processing modules in one package: the Camden 500 microphone preamp and Mojo signal processor, Carnaby 500 HarmonicEQ and Brick Lane 500 Modal PWM Compressor.

Together, the three modules provide microphone, line and Hi-Z amplification, analogue harmonic saturation, 3-band equalisation and flexible analogue dynamics processing within the 500 Series format.

From transparent recording through harmonic enhancement, EQ and compression, the bundle brings together three different Cranborne Audio technologies: Camden with Mojo, Carnaby HarmonicEQ and Brick Lane Modal PWM Compression.

Cranborne Audio Camden 500 Mic Preamp

The Cranborne Audio Camden 500 is a fully discrete, transformerless 500 Series microphone preamp designed around Cranborne Audio's custom Camden preamp topology.

Mic, line and Hi-Z input modes allow Camden 500 to accommodate microphones, instruments and line-level sources, while up to 68 dB of microphone gain provides substantial amplification for a wide range of recording applications.

With Mojo bypassed, Camden 500 is designed for extremely low noise and distortion with excellent frequency and phase linearity.

When additional analogue character is required, the variable Mojo circuit provides two distinct saturation modes.

THUMP introduces harmonic enhancement focused towards the low frequencies.

CREAM increases odd and even harmonic content while adding the type of transient behaviour associated with transformer and valve-based equipment.

Mojo can be continuously adjusted or completely bypassed, allowing Camden 500 to move between transparent amplification and more pronounced analogue saturation.

Cranborne Audio Carnaby 500 HarmonicEQ

The Cranborne Audio Carnaby 500 is a 3-band parametric analogue EQ for the 500 Series format featuring Cranborne Audio's HarmonicEQ technology.

HarmonicEQ uses analogue harmonic saturation as part of the boost and cut process. This allows the Carnaby 500 to alter frequency content while simultaneously introducing harmonics into sources, stems and mixes.

Three interactive bands provide separate LO, MID and HI frequency control, with each band using its own harmonic behaviour.

The LO band is a low shelf covering 20 Hz to 420 Hz.

The MID band is a fixed-Q peaking filter covering 200 Hz to 6.2 kHz.

The HI band is a high shelf covering 5 kHz to 25 kHz.

Input and Output controls provide ±20 dB of level adjustment. Driving the input harder increases the amount of harmonic saturation and changes the EQ response, while reducing the level allows cleaner EQ processing.

Cranborne Audio Brick Lane 500 Modal PWM Compressor

The Cranborne Audio Brick Lane 500 is a 500 Series analogue PWM compressor featuring Cranborne Audio's Modal PWM Compression architecture and variable Stress harmonic processing.

Rather than providing a single compression characteristic, Brick Lane 500 offers six operating modes that alter compression behaviour, ratio, knee and envelope characteristics.

The six modes are VELVET, FLOAT, SMASH, TAME, GLUE and POLISH.

VELVET provides Vari-Mu-style compression behaviour with tube-inspired harmonic character.

FLOAT provides Opto-inspired dynamics with gentle compression ballistics.

SMASH provides FET-style transient control and aggressive gain reduction.

TAME is designed for ultra-fast and transparent transient management.

GLUE provides gentler bus-style compression.

POLISH provides mastering-style limiting and incorporates Cranborne Audio's Analogue Lookahead technology.

Threshold, Attack and Release controls provide further dynamics adjustment, while selectable 60 Hz, 100 Hz and 200 Hz sidechain high-pass filters help control how low-frequency content interacts with the compressor.

Stress Harmonic Processing

Brick Lane 500's variable Stress control adds harmonically enriched compression effects.

Its behaviour changes according to the selected compression mode, allowing harmonic coloration and saturation to become part of the dynamics processing rather than operating as a separate effect.

Input and Output/Make-up Gain provide ±20 dB of adjustment, allowing the level feeding the compressor and saturation circuitry to be tailored to the source.
