The EVE Audio SC3070 is an active 3-way studio monitor designed as a compact and balanced powercube. It is a high-resolution, tri-amplified midfield monitor optimized for precise midrange and powerful bass response, making it especially well suited for applications where the complete skill set of a fully-fledged 3-way system is required, but where space is at a premium.
The SC3070 expands EVE Audio’s range of three-way speakers with a smaller version that delivers outstanding mid-range reproduction, exceptional balance and low distortion across the entire frequency range in a compact cabinet. It is described by EVE Audio as an ideal solution for recording, mastering and home studios.
For high and mid frequencies, the SC3070 combines EVE Audio’s own Air Motion Transformer RS3.1 with a specially designed 4 inch midrange driver. This setup provides accurate and un-hyped transmission of high and mid frequencies without being tiring. A 6.5 inch woofer delivers precise and powerful low frequencies, while a 6.5 inch passive radiator supports the overall low-frequency design.
The bass and mid-range drivers use EVE Audio’s SilverCone technology with a low-distortion copper-cap magnet system. The fiberglass-coated membrane material is built in a stable honeycomb structure to support true tonal reproduction, tight dynamic bass and minimal distortion.
The SC3070 features high-resolution DSP electronics for precise room adaptation. A high-quality BurrBrown analog-to-digital converter converts the analog input signal supplied via RCA or XLR at 24-bit / 192 kHz. The DSP provides latency-free filtering while protecting the tweeter and woofers against overload across the entire frequency range.
Monitor settings can be adjusted directly from the front rotary/pressure encoder, the SMART-knob with rotating LED ring. The SMART-knob controls volume, low shelf, mid EQ and high shelf filters, with all settings shown on the LED ring. LED brightness can be adjusted for dark studios or video applications.
The SC3070 also includes Parameter Lock, which saves settings even without power, and Safe Fade-In, which slowly increases volume when switching on to help protect ears and equipment. Volume and filter settings can also be independently fixed using rear DIP switches to prevent unauthorized or unintentional changes.
The SC3070 includes analog, optical and USB input selection, RCA input, TOSLink digital optical input, USB Type B input, XLR left and right inputs, XLR LFE input, XLR satellite outputs and XLR LFE output. A remote control is also included.
The EVE Audio SC3070 is also available as an All Black Edition.
